Crushing Fear – Day 43 – Complaining

It takes a lot more energy to complain and consume than it does to contribute.

— JJMeyer —

The World According To Jay …

I believe there are three types of people in the world–complainers, consumers, and contributors.

When asked to do something, the complainer’s response is, “why?” the consumer’s response is, “what do I get out of the deal?” and the contributor’s response is, “I’m all over it.”

Complaining and consuming are two more fear-based actions, born from a scarcity mentality that the enemy loves for us to dwell in.

God loves to work with contributors, as he designed the world to work through those of us willing to make it a better place.

Where do you spend most of your time today–complaining, consuming, or contributing?

Try…

Try giving more than you take.

Try contributing your time, talents, and treasures daily to make the world a better place, and you will be blown away at how much more straightforward and enjoyable life becomes.

Acts 20:35 (NIV), “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work, we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said:  ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Someone who has every right to complain gave me a call yesterday.

This guy is not a complainer; he is a problem solver, he is a rock of strength, but he’s run into a wall. I’m talking about Reggie’s husband.

You may recall that a couple of months ago, I sought prayers for Reggie, who was fighting a major health issue. Well, she and her husband are still fighting, but they are running out of energy and strength.

Our healthcare system is failing them.

They need prayer for clarity on what to do.

They need prayer for courage to take action on what God directs them to do.

They need prayer that doors will open for them.

They need prayer for a blanket of Holy Spirit peace to wrap its arms around them and comfort them through this process.

PLEASE PRAY FOR REGGIE AND HER HUSBAND!!!!

Reflection:

What beliefs, thoughts, and actions cause you to complain and consume?

Additional Scripture to read and reflect upon:  Philippians 2:14, Ephesians 4:29, 1 Thessalonians 5:18
