Lent Day 41 – Peace and Worry

There is nothing that wastes the body like worry, and the one who has any faith in God should be ashamed to worry about anything whatsoever. (OUCH!!!)

Whatever you are worried about is either going to happen, or it isn’t going to happen—so what good is worry?

Here are a couple of phrases I keep close to me when worry tries to creep in:

If you pray, why worry? If you worry, why pray?

F.E.A.R. = False Evidence Appearing Real

Fact

However you look at it, worry is a total waste of time created by fear (the devil), and the devil loves to get us to waste our time.

Be courageous (fears that have been prayed for) and choose faith over worry.

Peace is never attained through worry.

I always write from experience.

Matthew 6:25-27, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life.”

Journal your thoughts:

What am I grateful for today?

In what way(s) will I bring light to the world today?

What will I deny myself to draw closer to God and gain more peace in my life today?

Prayer:

God, I offer myself to Thee—To build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always! Amen.
