Crushing Fear – Day 22 – Insignificance

Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.

— Robert Louis Stevenson —

This is day twenty-two on our Lenten journey of facing our fears and crushing them.

Enough is Enough

Another fear we often experience is a fear of insignificance or feelings that we aren’t “enough.”

Social media has created a warped sense of significance these days.  Those who live in the imaginary world of social media believe the more likes, views, followers, and shares we garner, the more significant we are.

#WRONG!!!

Fact

True significance, from God’s point of view, comes down to how well we’ve utilized our talents to help those in need and/or make His world a better place.

I believe God gets a big smile on His face every time we do something for another person without telling anyone about it.

Solution

Try anonymously planting seeds for harvests you may never see.

Acts like these are quite significant through God’s eyes.

One “like” from God is worth significantly more than ten million “likes” from the world.

#TRUTH

James 1:22 (NIV), “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.  Do what it says.”

Reflection:

What beliefs, thoughts, and actions cause you to struggle with living out the true meaning of significance.?

Additional Scripture to read and reflect upon:  2 Corinthians 9:6, John 12:24, Hosea 10:12
