Courage is huge.
Courage is all about not giving into our fears.
My personal definition of courage is–fear that’s been prayed for.
A couple of weeks ago Jordan (our special guy) and I went to watch our beloved Cincinnati Bengals play the Buffalo Bills and was privy to a kind of courage not everyone is aware of.
We sat in the wheelchair section.
On our right was a father with a seven year old son who was autistic. His interaction with his son was very similar to mine with Jordan. They had a special kind of bond that didn’t involve talking.
On our left was another father with his son except this father had some type of neuromuscular disorder and was confined to a wheelchair. In this instance, the son served as his dad’s caretaker and the dad was not only into the game but was also joking with Jordan a lot.
Prior to the start of the game the Bengal cheerleaders led a group of young girls/ladies out on the field in order to do some cheer and dance routines.
One of the young ladies especially caught my eye as she was in a wheelchair and was pounding her pom pom up into the sky.
She was the only person on the field in a wheelchair but could have cared less. She shook her pom pom like there was no tomorrow.
I was surrounded by courage on that Sunday in Cincinnati.
I am so grateful to be aware of that kind of courage.
Psalm 31:24, “Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!”
