Courage-Faith-Hope

You do not need to know precisely what is happening or exactly where it is all going. What you need is to recognize the possibilities and challenges offered by the present moment and to embrace them with courage, faith, and hope.

— Thomas Merton —

The following is a thought from a few years ago…

Merton certainly hits the nail on the head here.

Instead of wasting time worrying about a future that is out of our hands, we should invest our time embracing what is in our hands with courage, faith, and hope.

Faith is like a muscle, it needs to be exercised and strengthened.

Fact – Every time we worry or become anxious about the unknown, we weaken our faith muscle.

How’s your faith?

Do you dwell on the unknown or focus on the possibilities and challenges presented at the moment?

John 16:33, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace.  In the world you will have tribulation.  But take heart; I have overcome the world.”  (ESV)
