Crushing Fear – Day 2 – Can Do

If you want to conquer fear, don't sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.

A Distant Reflection

“I can’t do this, Daddy, it’s too hard,” are words I recall coming from our children’s mouths many years ago. Β I used to tell them “can’t” was a four-letter word and then help them find a way to overcome whatever challenges they faced.

A Slice of Wisdom

It is always easier to give in to our doubts than to do what it takes to overcome them.

The devil loves for us to live in a world of “can’t,” in fact, “can’t” is one of the devil’s favorite four-letter words.

If the devil can get us to believe we can’t achieve our dream–because someone told us our dream was silly or that we didn’t have what it takes to make it come true.

or

We can’t forgive the “unforgivable”–because we were raised to believe that we must always get even.

or

We can’t handle conflict–because someone told us never to ruffle any feathers.

or

We can’t stop an addiction–because we believe it is impossible and we are not worthy of having a better life.

or

We can’t forgive ourselves–because shame and guilt (tools of the devil) have paralyzed us into believing that what we did is unforgivable.

or

We can’t stop comparing ourselves to others–because someone told us a long time ago we weren’t good enough…often that someone is us. πŸ™

or

We can’t seek others’ help–because someone told us asking for help was a form of weakness…often that someone is us. πŸ™ πŸ™

Fact

CAN’TΒ  is a LIE that comes from the devil and, for many of us, is a mindset passed on from previous generations.

I’m here to tell you CAN!

God gives us the ability to dream and picture a better way for a reason.

He wants us to do great things.

All of the above examples and hundreds of other “cant’s” can be overcome with courage formed through ongoing conscious contact with God.

Courage

Courage is fear that has been prayed for–over and over and over.

If and when the devil’s favorite four-letter word (can’t) begins going through your head, recite the following:

“I CAN do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”Β  Philippians 4:13.

Reflection:

What self-limiting beliefs, thoughts, and actions cause you to struggle with β€œcan’t”?

Read and reflect upon:Β  Jeremiah 29:11, 2 Timothy 1:7
