reVision and Chaos

All great changes are preceded by chaos.

— Deepak Chopra —

How many times have you prayed for a change in your life but as soon as things get a little uncomfortable and chaotic you give up and flip back into your comfort zone?

I learned so many lessons from my Ironman Maryland journey in 2018 but none more important than how to “dance with discomfort.”

Several of my training requirements during my Ironman journey were very uncomfortable. Swimming continuously for ninety minutes was one of them. What was so amazing is at the end of those swims a deep feeling of accomplishment infiltrated my emotional state and in turn, I became mentally stronger.

Much to my surprise, the swim ended up being the smoothest leg of my Ironman Maryland experience.

Positive change is uncomfortable and a bit chaotic, but “uncomfortable and chaotic” often leads to bigger and better things.

Learning how to dance with discomfort was a constant in 2020.

I’m counting on bigger and better things for 2021…like another round with Ironman Maryland. 🙂
