I love the opening quote from Brendon Burchard; I pulled it from his book, “The Leadership Manifesto.”
Most people never follow through on their BHAG’s (Big Hairy Audacious Goals) because of the fear of the pain and discomfort associated with taking a step into the unknown.
Most people follow through on their BHAG’s because they can manage their fear of pain and discomfort by setting their sights on an outcome worth chasing.
Achieving a BHAG is all about managing the mind.
For years I’ve managed my “projected” fear of pain and discomfort with prayer and practice.
For example, I’ve done my fair share of public speaking over the years, and the reason I am calm whenever I speak is that I have prayed for God’s hand to guide my words every day leading up to the engagement, and I’ve practiced delivering the message several times.
How are you managing your mind in preparation for the achievement of your 2023 BHAG?
Jeremiah 17:7, “But blessed is the one who trust in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”
