Personally, I’ve found the opening quote to be absolute truth.
2021 is just around the corner and many of us are looking forward to various kinds of new beginnings.
When taking on a new goal it is important we surround ourselves with the right people, places, and things.
When I decided to live a life of sobriety many years ago, I had to change the environment around me.
When I decided I wanted to be a successful business person many years ago, I had to surround myself with mentors and teammates who were smarter than me.
When I decided to become an Ironman triathlete, I had to invest my time in reading books and watching videos from Ironman experts.
I think you get my point. Change invokes change.
What aspects of your surroundings will you need to change in order for you to attain your 2021 goals?
A great exercise to use when inventorying your current situation in preparation for creating an environment that will assist you in attaining your 2021 goals is STOP, START, STAY.
- What people, places, and things do you need to STOP allowing to inhabit your environment?
- What people, places, and things do you need to START allowing to inhabit your environment?
- What people, places, and things do you need to allow to STAY in your environment?
1 Corinthians 15:33, “Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
