The opening quote reminded me of a time I was having lunch with a fellow entrepreneur. I asked him when he first realized he wanted to own his own business. He looked at me and after a few seconds of thought he said, “I was sitting in a college class bored to death and began drawing the logo for my company which at that point in time didn’t exist. Eventually I dropped out of college and put that ‘imagined’ logo to good use when I started my own business.”
Forty years later my friend’s ‘imagined’ logo turned him into a multimillionaire.
When working to attain a BHAC (Big Hairy Audacious Commitment), it obviously takes desire to get the ball rolling, but another key component is having the expectancy to make it happen.
As human beings we have the ability to imagine. No other animal is given this gift from God.
What will the achievement of your 2019 BHAC look like? What will you and/or your life look like when you achieve your 2019 BHAC?
Capture that image and don’t let go of it. Begin seeing it happen in your mind at least once a day.
Desire without expectancy is a road to nowhere.
