I remember a time when a Bible study group I participated in was talking about the importance of spending quality time with God every day.
The majority of the group admitted that they struggled with this discipline. They also knew I didn’t and asked me how I did it.
I told them my morning devotion time with God is a life and death proposition for me, that keeping my addiction disorder in check is contingent upon my spiritual condition. I went on to tell them that my addiction disorder was fueled by ego (easing God out), and I had a huge and quite destructive ego when I lived my life on my own terms.
I love the opening quote that I found in Brendon Burchard’s book, “The Motivation Manifesto.” If you struggle with motivation, I strongly encourage you to read his book.
The ‘Why’ behind our BHAC is critical.
If you know what your 2019 BHAC is, take a moment to write a solid ‘Why’ statement in order to make a conscious commitment to your motive…your 2019 BHAC could be a life and death proposition.
