Quote Reflection
I remember when a Bible study group I participated in discussed the importance of spending quality time with God daily.
The majority of the group admitted that they struggled with this discipline. I, on the other hand, did not.
When I was in early recovery, I was convinced that my sobriety was contingent upon my spiritual condition, and my spiritual condition was contingent upon quality time spent with my Creator.
Back then, this was a life or death situation for me because I knew if I relapsed, all bets of me staying alive or, at the least, being a productive member of society were off.
This daily practice has continued for over thirty-seven years, and today, I still view it as a life-and-death practice—a practice where I die to myself and rise with Christ, leading me through another day.
Now, that is a deeply held reason to act…see the opening quote.
What is your 2025 BHAG?
What is your deeply held reason for taking action on that BHAG?
Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
John 5:30, “I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.”
