Beliefs and The Divine Election

I never vote for a candidate, I vote for my beliefs.

What some are calling the biggest election in the history of the world is less than two weeks away.

I very seldom write about politics.

The other day I was texting with a friend who indirectly inferred I was stupid because he was assuming my vote for President was quite possibly different than his.

I will never accuse someone of being stupid because of who they are voting for but I will conclude they may be a bit shallow if they are voting for a particular candidate and not their beliefs.

I’m a firm believer that if you don’t know what you stand for, you will fall for anything.

As I’ve noted several times in my EagleLaunch writings, our thoughts come from our beliefs and our thoughts turn into action.

If you want to change a bad habit, there is most likely a belief you need to inventory and change.

I believe there is no greater responsibility for a human being than to take care of one’s temple; to nurture and strengthen one’s spiritual, mental, and physical state.

That belief helps shield me from thoughts turned to actions that result in a gluttonous state…something I’m not entirely immune :).

I won’t get into all my other beliefs but hopefully, you get the gist.

Oh, I do have one other belief I’d like to share with you.

I don’t, for one second, believe this is the biggest election ever.

The biggest election that ever took place happened almost 2,000 years ago when God elected to have His son die a horrible death on the cross for all of my past, present, and future sins…like thinking my friend is stupid for inferring that I’m stupid because of a silly Presidential election. 🙂

From this Divine Election, God not only relieved me of the burden of sin through His mercy (not getting what I deserve) but through Jesus’ death, resurrection, and ascension into heaven He infused his righteousness into me (The Holy Spirit)…and after this transaction, He said, “We’ll call it even.”

Can you say GRACE??? (i.e. getting something we don’t deserve).

My God is a LOT bigger than the 2020 Presidential election.

Is yours?

John 3:16, “16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”
