Reflection
I don’t know about you, but goal setting, putting the systems in place to make them happen, and then chasing them stirs my spirit, as noted in Carnegie’s quote.
I have a couple of fresh goals that I am focused on, and I am excited to begin the adventure involved in achieving them.
Practice
A great tool to use in the goal-setting process is BE-DO-HAVE.
Who do I want to be due to the accomplishment of this goal?
For example, many years ago, I decided I wanted to be in the best physical and mental shape possible to care for our special guy, Jordan, for as long as I live.
What do I need to do to achieve the goal?
My do for my be was to exercise for at least an hour or more daily.
What will I have once I achieve the goal?
Today, I have adequate physical fitness and stamina to care for Jordan…I made that commitment over twenty years ago. I also have focus and peace of mind, which are routine exercise’s by-products.
Question
Why not take command of yourself and begin the process of pursuing a couple of worthwhile goals?
As you begin the journey, as noted in Carnegie’s quote, you will experience a special kind of freedom and liberation.
I always write from experience.
Habakkuk 2:2-3, “And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.”

P.S.
As you know, I sign off each of my writings with my acronym “P.E.A.C.E.” I have found P.E.A.C.E. to be a solid process to use when chasing and sustaining goals:
Plan – A dream/goal remains a dream until it is put into writing. Putting your dream or goal in writing is the first step in creating a PLAN to achieve it. When you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
Effort – Turning your dream/goal into reality requires a commitment to putting forth consistent and focused EFFORT toward the execution of your plan. Nothing great in life happens without working hard.
Attitude – Your chances of achieving your dream exponentially increase if you believe you will achieve it. Always remember that your ATTITUDE determines your altitude in life.
Community – Nothing great in life happens by doing it alone. The chances of achieving your dream expand as your COMMUNITY of positive mentors and coaches expand. You become the average of the five people you spend the most time with…and yes, spending time with “people” through books and instructional videos factors into your average.
Energy – Chasing and achieving your dream requires optimal levels of mental, physical, and spiritual ENERGY. Take care of yourself; no one else will.
