Â
If I would have seen this quote thirty years ago I would have ignored it and thought it was absurd as I once was one of the most confident idiots I’ve ever known.
“Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? Â There is more hope for a fool than for him.” Â Proverbs 26:12 (NIV)
I’m not saying confidence is a bad thing. Â In fact quiet confidence or confidence under control is what I observe in the humble.
The confidence that hurts us is the confidence that closes our minds to other opinions or options. Â That type of confidence keeps our world very small.
The key is to have our doubts balance our confidence and our confidence balance our doubts.
Not an easy task but an attribute we must develop if we are going to make the most of ourselves.
