Accountability, Peace and Joy

When you think everything is someone else's fault, you will suffer a lot. When you realize that everything springs only from yourself, you will learn both peace and joy.

— Dalai Lama —

The opening quote ties back to one of  my favorite self-accountability sayings; “If I’m not the problem, there is no solution.”

Playing the blame game is easy, but churns our spirit like a cyclone, and stalls our growth as human beings.

Taking account and responsibility for our lives is not easy, but calms the spirit like a gentle breeze while serving as a catalyst for personal growth.

…I write from experience.

Is your spirit like a cyclone or a gentle breeze?

It’s your decision.

Proverbs 15:13, “A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.”

Heavenly Father, please help me take responsibility for my life and how I respond to the various challenges I encounter along the way. Amen.
