Memories and Father’s Day

Dad...remembering you is easy, I do it every day. Missing you is the heartache that never goes away.

Reflection

My fourth Father’s Day without my dad.

My third Father’s Day without my father-in-law.

Our most precious time with our dads came while we were following our kids’ basketball journeys. So here we are after Jason’s final game in his first year at Dartmouth.

If there is a silver lining to losing a parent or someone you dearly love, it’s the beautiful memories.

When they pass, the memories kick in sometimes like an avalanche.

Although our hearts may have a bit of heaviness as another Father’s Day passes with our two “big guys” lounging with the One Big Guy in the eternal, our souls will be lightened from all the great memories our dads created for us.

Thanks for all you did for us, Jim and Dad, but most importantly, thanks for the beautiful memories…you may be gone, but you’re not.

Love,

Lori and Jay

Ephesians 6:4, “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.”
