Reflection
This quote reminded me of six years ago on this day when my friend Bob heard three words none of us ever want to hear: “You have cancer.”
He came very close to death, and without the quick thinking of his medical team, he wouldn’t be with us today.
Since that day, Bob and I have communicated off and on, and from my perspective, his attitude has sustained him.
In the early stages of his battle, he would conclude his messages with, “I choose not to be sick today.” This was his way of protecting his mind from a bad attitude and giving him the energy to fight one more day.
A positive attitude is paramount in overcoming any challenge in life.
BTW…Bob trains daily toward a goal that was delayed by his setback six years ago — to run a marathon.
Proverbs 3:5- 6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.”
The attitude you take toward your problems will determine whether your life progresses or regresses…I always write from experience.
