Lent Mindset Day 24 – The Company We Keep

You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.

Reflection

“Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.'” — 1 Corinthians 15:33 (NIV)

Who and what we let into our brains play a big part in our mindset.

In essence, we become the company we keep, and in today’s world, the company we keep doesn’t only come in the form of human beings but also includes everything that grabs our attention on our cell phones.

If you’re struggling with a negative and unproductive mindset, take inventory: Are the people around you, the books you read, the news you watch, the podcasts you listen to, and the social media feeds you follow pulling you toward Jesus or away? Are they lifting you or deflating you?

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together.” – Hebrews 10:24-25

Thought for the day: Surround yourself with people, places, things, and phone apps that reflect His light, not the world’s.
