200 Miles of Thoughts – Light and Positive Vibes

Positive energy is attracted to positive energy.

— Unknown —

An abundance of writing material flows through the right side of my brain when I am on a long bike ride.

Today’s writing is a continuation of my thoughts captured on my two one-hundred milers this past week.

When I go on long bike journeys I am usually on the trail at the crack of dawn which is about thirty minutes before the sun rises.

For us early birds, we know that the initial stages of dawn create enough light for us to see.

My starting point for most of my bike rides is a parking lot just north of Piqua, Ohio. The lot is saddled next to the Great Miami River and the bike path runs between it and the remnants of the Miami Erie Canal.

For the first four miles of my ride, my eyes are peering to my left as I witness the sun slowly rise over the eastern horizon. Couple that view with trees which are changing their dress for fall and it’s as though I’m having energy mainlined into a vein in one of my arms.

Light creates all kinds of positive energy.

The reason for this writing?

Have you ever noticed how there are some people who bring light to almost every situation? You know what I’m talking about. They walk into a room and instantly there is a positive vibe flowing.

I once heard someone say, “I’m never down. I’m either up or I’m getting up.” That is one of my mantras and it is similar to the sun’s attitude.

Life is throwing us a lot of challenges right now. We have a choice whether or not we stay down and bring negative vibes to the world or stay up and/or get back up and bring positive energy to those around us.

Where’s your attitude hanging out these days?

Up?

or

Down?

Attitude is a choice.

Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
