Reflection
Think about this. Jesus announced his entry into the world to the shepherds…see Luke 2:8-12 below. He didn’t announce it to royalty or government leaders. He announced it to the shepherds.
In those days, the shepherds were the outcasts, the misfits, and those of low esteem. I’m guessing; due to the world’s view of them, they had a humble spirit.
I believe Jesus’ entry into the world 2000 years ago is symbolic of what He needs from us to do His best work through us–a humble spirit.
I connected with Jesus over thirty years ago, when I was at the absolute pits of my life, and nothing has been the same since.
Every morning I arise in His presence and, through prayer, turn my will over to him so whatever BHAG(S) I’m chasing includes Him.
Jesus works best with humble spirits.
How’s your humility?
Luke 2:8-12, “And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you: he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
