Fear & Ruts

The only difference between a rut and a grave are the dimensions.

God at Center-Mental PPTWe continue to reflect on excerpts from my book FEAR-PROOF as we study the Mental component of our Wheel of Life.  As our thoughts go, so goes our life…

“The only difference between a rut and a grave are the dimensions.”  ~Ellen Glasgow

Procrastination, obstacles, distractions and indecision are all great “fear tools” the devil uses in order to get us to create ruts in our life.

What is scary is how easy it is to feel comfortable in a rut.  The comfort derives from thinking the pain of staying in a rut is less than the pain associated with change.

The devil loves ruts as they truly are graves without dimensions.

Helpful tip:  The amount of time you’ve spent in a rut is usually proportionate to the amount of time it takes to dig out of it. Investing your time in digging out of your rut is the start of your new groove…I write from experience.

Ephesians 1:11 (NIV), “Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.”

Additional Scripture to read and reflect upon:  Proverbs 3:5, Isaiah 55:8-9, Proverbs 1:7

What beliefs, thoughts and actions cause you to struggle with getting out of ruts?
