For those of you struggling spiritually, mentally and/or physically at this time try holding onto the following scripture. These verses came to me this morning as I was praying for a dear friend and her family who is being challenged with the diagnosis of cancer. Although we may desire to always walk closely with Jesus, I have found that the challenges life deals us are opportunities to draw even closer to the One who has all the answers. He gives us the strength to carry on and a peace which transcends all understanding if we continue to pray and give thanks no matter what the situation.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-23 “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not put out the Spirit’s fire.”
Isaiah 40:29-31 “He give strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
