Recovery Month – Day 15 – Prayer

Prayer is the key in the hand of faith to unlock heaven's storehouse.

— Ellen White —

Reflection

Prayer is vital to living sober because it keeps us connected to a Power greater than ourselves.

For those of you who aren’t in recovery, prayer is vital to living a purposeful, focused life in peace.

IME (In My Experience)

Addiction thrives on isolation and self-will, but prayer shifts our focus from control to surrender. It reminds us we don’t have to carry life’s burdens alone and gives us the strength to face what we cannot change.

Prayer calms anxiety, renews perspective, and provides hope in moments of weakness. It’s not about fancy words but about honesty and willingness to seek guidance.

In recovery, prayer becomes both anchor and compass—helping us stay grounded, grateful, and committed to walking the path of sobriety one day at a time.

Prayer isn’t a last resort; it’s a first step. In prayer, we shift burdens from our shoulders to God’s.
