The Door of Serenity

Prayer and trust in the One who answers our prayers are the hinges upon which the door of serenity swings.

Reflection

If I’m being honest, October has felt more like a year than a month. It’s been filled with ups that lifted my spirit, downs that tested my patience, and plenty of in-betweens that left me wondering what God was up to. But through it all, one truth has steadied me—serenity isn’t found in smooth circumstances; it’s found in steadfast trust.

When I choose to pray instead of panic, to trust instead of control, and to rest instead of wrestle, I sense that divine hinge swing open. Peace flows in—not because everything is fixed, but because I’ve handed everything to the One who can fix what truly matters: my heart.

I’m grateful I no longer need to chase serenity in the world’s distractions.

For me, serenity is not found in a drink, a distraction, or a dopamine hit. It’s found in the quiet confidence that God’s got this—and me.
