This is a post from a couple of years ago…
Two weekends ago, we were blessed with a visit from our two granddaughters. I feel so alive whenever I am around them.
They are a couple of beauties who infuse nothing but joy and positive energy into this old man.
Their mere presence quite simply lights me up and makes me feel younger.
Fun Facts
I would not have the two granddaughters I have today had I not made a significant attitude adjustment over forty years ago.
I’ve told this story before, but the opening quote spurred me to share it again.
In my second year of college basketball, I copped a major attitude with the head coach. He knew it and buried me at the end of the bench.
I decided to quit and transfer to another school, but my brother convinced me otherwise at the last minute.
So I hung in there.
and…
I changed my attitude.
I ended up in the starting lineup during the latter part of the season and had a great college basketball career at Ohio Northern University.
I met my wife, Lori, at O.N.U. the following year.
She’s a critical piece in why we have two beautiful granddaughters today. If you’ve ever read anything about my recovery from substance abuse, she is a huge reason I’m alive today.
It’s scary to think of where I might be today if I hadn’t changed my attitude forty-some years ago.

If so, try taking a look at your attitude.
Proverbs 17:22, “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
Oh, and by the way, we now have three love-infusing granddaughters, and tomorrow we are heading east to pay a visit to them.
