Ironman Maryland 2018
Ironman Update
Last week I completed the first 1/3 of my triathlon training for Ironman Maryland, which takes place in September.
The training is divided into three ten-week segments:
-
-
-
-
- Base
 - Build
 - Peak

 -

 -

 -

The base and build phases are focused on laying down a sturdy foundation to handle the Peak period, which is the most rigorous training segment during this crazy thirty-week period in my life.
Ironically, my sanity grows stronger through the insanity associated with intense exercise. 🙂
Thought
Those of you looking to create a new habit or achieve a goal you’ve been thinking about, thinking about, and thinking about, and…you get my drift.
Maybe, like my Ironman training, you would feel more confident and comfortable setting a goal divided into three segments…Base – Build – Peak.
When I saw the opening quote, I thought about how important it is to methodically and intentionally build momentum when trying to make positive life changes.
Achieving one small goal at a time, one week at a time, over a thirty-week period, creates some amazing momentum.
And BTW…
You cannot think your way out of something you’ve behaved yourself into and you cannot think your way into positive change. Consistent action is the only way to achieve positive growth…I always write from experience.
Colossians 3:23-24, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”
