Keep Your Vision Alive

Your vision requires vigilance; neglect it and it quietly disappears.

Reflection

I just spent the past two days facilitating a professional management class with twenty leaders, and one message kept surfacing: stay clear and steadfast about your vision.

When you lose sight of it, ambiguity creeps in, control feels uncertain, and frustration and stress inevitably follow.

Clarity of vision rarely vanishes overnight. It erodes slowly, through distraction, comparison, and overcommitment.

The most effective leaders, whether of themselves or others, protect their vision fiercely and renew their focus on it daily.
