Reflection
I’ll never forget walking into the rooms of AA that November. I was barely three months sober and hanging on by a thread. I couldn’t work, the debt was suffocating, and potential jail time was waiting. The topic that month was gratitude. I was hitting at least one meeting a day, sometimes more, and everywhere I turned, people kept talking about being grateful.
At first, I thought it was complete nonsense. I had blown up so much of my life—what on earth could I possibly be grateful for?
But slowly, it began to sink in. Gratitude didn’t change my circumstances, but it changed me. It quieted the chaos, calmed my spirit, and kept me from spiraling into self-pity. A grateful heart is the antidote to the pity pot.
Facts
Gratitude isn’t denial of reality—it’s direction.
When we choose gratitude, we shift our focus from what we lack to what God has already provided.
Gratitude changes our internal narrative from scarcity to abundance, worry to worship, striving to surrender.
The world will always tell us we need more—more money, more status, more followers, more proof we’re succeeding. But gratitude reminds us we already have enough because we have God.
Each time we pause to give thanks, we declare that God is present, active, and generous. Gratitude isn’t a feeling; it’s a discipline that unlocks joy and peace.
For the next twenty-nine days, EagleLaunch Inspiration’s focus will be on gratitude. I hope it lifts you like it did me 38.25 years ago.

- What if today you thanked God before asking Him for anything?
- What already-present blessing have you overlooked?
