Gratitude in Trials

Gratitude turns trials into testimonies.

Reflection

“Gratitude turns trials into testimonies.” The opening quote came to mind as I reflected on the hardest season of my life. I was battling addiction, and in the middle of that storm, our son Jordan was born with disabilities. I was furious at God. Grateful? Not a chance.

But with time — and sobriety — I realized that trial changed everything. It forced me to rely on a power greater than myself. It softened my heart toward others in pain.

Today, I’m thankful for the darkest chapter of my life, because it became the turning point that changed me for good.

What I’ve Learned Over The Years…

When life is painful, thanksgiving becomes powerful warfare.

Gratitude shifts focus from what we’re facing to Who is with us.

It reminds us God is not absent in struggle—He is shaping us.

Trials produce depth, compassion, endurance, and wisdom we could not gain any other way.

Gratitude doesn’t celebrate the pain; it celebrates God’s presence in the pain.
