Reflection
The past few weeks have brought a wave of meaningful work—good work, purposeful work—the kind that requires me to be on my A-game. But I’ve noticed something as the number representing my age grows higher…staying sharp takes more intentionality. Rest, exercise, and eating well all matter, but rest has become the key that unlocks the others.
IMO…God commanded rest because He knew we’d resist it.
We try to outrun limits, outrun fatigue, outrun the simple truth that we’re human…been there, done that, have the chemical dependency t-shirt to prove it. 🙂
But gratitude reminds us that rest is not laziness—it’s trust.
It’s trust in the quiet battle cry…“God, You’re God… I’m not.”
When we choose to rest, we’re choosing to believe He’s working even when we’re not.
