Faith Over Fear – Day 7 – Fear of Aging

Only one life, ’twill soon be past; only what’s done for Christ will last.

— C.T. Studd —

Reflection

Losing someone suddenly—or hearing a friend’s terminal diagnosis—has a way of snapping you awake. Both have touched my life recently.

On a more personal note, I recently announced the pace of my final mile on a long run, genuinely proud of it, only to have my sweet spouse laugh and say, “You would’ve been embarrassed to share that time with me five years ago.”

Yep

Reality Check

The clock is real. The numbers are real. And there are fewer days ahead than behind.

Aging doesn’t lie.

The body changes…oh, how it changes. 😊

Recovery takes longer…sometimes a LOT longer. 😊

Facts

The temptation is to believe your best days are over. That’s noise…said differently, that’s total B.S.!

Scripture tells us the season may change, but the assignment doesn’t.

With age…

Wisdom is deeper…just a little harder to extract. 😊

Purpose is clearer, and focus is sharper…sometimes after a shot of caffeine and for me, new lens implants thanks to cataracts.😊

You’re not done—you’re just playing a smarter game…Lori may question that one as it pertains to me. 😊

The Challenge

Don’t coast.

Don’t drift.

Number your days and attack them with intention.

Put what’s left in God’s hands and trust Him to redeem every rep, every season, every finish.

Note to self: Finish strong. Empty the tank.

Soul Search

What lies is the devil telling you about your age?

What are you doing about those lies?

“So teach us to number our days…” — Psalm 90:12
