Reflection:
I enjoy watching the Serenity Acres birds gather for meals at the feeders just outside our kitchen window. As I watch, I often think of Matthew 6:26: “Look at the birds of the air… your heavenly Father feeds them.” Sometimes I jokingly add, “with a little help from Jay.” 😊
But the truth is, God doesn’t need my help.
Jesus spoke those words in Matthew to people weighed down by worry—especially fear tied to daily provision. Money is often where fear shows up first: fear of not having enough, losing what we’ve earned, or being unprepared for what’s ahead.
Financial fear leads us to believe that security lies in accumulation rather than trust.
Jesus never dismisses real needs, but He always redirects our focus from provision to Provider.
Lent invites us to examine what we lean on for peace.
God promises provision, not excess, and presence, not panic.
Trusting Him isn’t reckless—it’s faithful.

Where do I really look for peace—things or Him?
Matthew 6:26, “Look at the birds of the air… your heavenly Father feeds them.”
