Quote Reflection
Back in 2010, at the height of my professional career, God nudged me to step away and start something new—something that would create more space to care for our son Jordan.
For the first twenty-five years of his life, my wife carried most of the load, both with Jordan’s disability and with raising our other two kids while I was busy building a business.
Walking away wasn’t easy. I was still young, fueled up, and strong in my field. But I listened to God’s whisper—and I’m grateful I did.
Jordan has become one of my greatest teachers.
Caring for him slows me down. And when I slow down, I notice the little things: happiness, laughter, beauty in and around Serenity Acres, joy in the moment.
The Biggest Little Thing…
Jordy and most of his friends are always happy. Every morning, when I walk him to his adult day care van, I get a shot of pure joy straight into my spirit as every one of Jord’s buddies is happy and energized.
Yep… people with multiple disabilities… bringing joy to my spirit.
Jordan has taught me that the little things really are the big things. And I’m forever grateful—for him, and for listening to God when He called me to something better.
