“You can out-distance that which is running after you, but not what is running inside you.” ~Rwandan Proverb
Living from the inside-out is the best way to overcome having to feel as though you are running from what is inside of you. For years I lived from the outside in allowing other people, places and things to dictate how I felt about myself and the world and it seemed as though I didn’t like what was running inside of me. In essence, other people, places and things (especially drugs) became my God and was constantly running inside of me. This changed the day I decided to try my best to allow God to be God and to guide and direct me from the inside-out on all aspects of my journey.
I have slowly evolved from needing to feel good first in order to do right, to doing right first (whether it is enjoyable or not) and feeling good because I did right. In other words, I don’t need other people, places and things to motivate me. God is my motivator today.
What is running inside of you today? What are you running from?
