Do you wish to be great? Then begin by being. Do you desire to construct a vast and lofty fabric? Think first about the foundations of humility. The higher your structure is to be, the deeper must be its foundation. ~St. Augustine
Desire can become a double edged sword.
It takes focused desire in order for positive change to take place in one’s life but if the desire is not firmly planted in the word of God then it may become a desire of the flesh which can cause all types of problems. In essence a life built upon worldly desires has a weak foundation and can easily crumble.
A simple question to ask yourself when trying to discern your desire; “Is this desire born out of a need to glorify me or glorify God?”
