Effective leadership involves many attributes. He or she must first be able to influence others and the influence usually takes place from the leader being inspiring, a good communicator, competent, trustworthy and forward thinking. But above all else a leader needs to be humble or else the power he or she is given will be difficult for the leader to control.
Leadership humility comes in the form of being in front of the charge when the going is tough and behind the scenes when things are running smoothly.
Leadership humility comes in the form of talking “we” and “ours,” instead of “I,” “me” and “mine.”
Leadership humility comes in the form of great things happening in a leader’s professional and personal life with no need to make others aware.
Leadership humility comes in the form of caring just as much about the needs of the people you are serving as you care about your own.
If you are reading this post and thinking, “this doesn’t apply to me, I’m not a leader,” WRONG! We all are responsible for leading our lives.
How is your life being lead these days?
Great scripture on this topic:Â James 4:6, Philippians 2:3-11, Luke 14:11, 1 Peter 5:6, Proverbs 22:4, Romans 12:3
