ALL*

“You say grace before meals.  All right.  But I say grace before the concert and the opera, and grace before the play and pantominme, and grace before I open a book, and grace before sketching, painting, swimming, fencing, boxing, walking, playing, dancing and grace before I dip the pen in the ink.”  ~G.K. Chesterton

God does his best work when we give him ALL of us, not just bits and pieces.  I remember back in the days when I was what I call a “half-a$$” Christian.  I called upon God when I needed him and thanked him when things went well and got ticked off at Him when things didn’t go as I wanted them to go.   He was a God of convenience for me.  As I look back to those days my life was somewhat bi-polar as most of the time I was depending upon the world to give me peace and joy…bad decision.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again; you are either in or out when it comes to God, there is no such thing as faith in-between…of course, that is, if you are tired of living a bi-polar merry-go-round type of life.

Today I know I have a God who does His best work through me when I give him ALL of me.  As Chesterton notes above; I can tell you my best days are no longer measured in dollars, achievement, getting my way or getting paid attention to.  They are measured in how connected I was to God throughout the day.

A heart of gratitude is kept full by proactively staying in touch with God throughout the day.  A heart of gratitude creates a life of peace and joy no matter the situation…I write from experience.
