An object at rest stays at rest, an object in motion stays in motion…
As I was reading the 9th verse of the 16th Proverb today; “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps,” I was reminded of the above fact brought to our attention years ago by Sir Isaac Newton.
In my work with people over the years one of the main reasons for failure is lack of action due to over-thinking or “over-gripping the golf club.”
Nike’s slogan “Just Do It” is what I tell young people today who are mulling over their options or lack there of with life. There is a much better chance of attaining success in anything you do if you continue to move forward as success will not wait for you.
Your chances of becoming successful increase exponentially when you continue to move forward while seeking God’s strength, courage and wisdom throughout the ride.
Notice the Proverb above makes it very clear that steps (i.e. action) must be taken for the Lord to determine our ways…he doesn’t get us up off our hind side; only we can do that.
