Falling Forward – Day 11 – An Evolving Life

You can't start the next chapter of your life if you keep rereading the last one.

Reflection

Our “old tapes” from yesterday are meant to help us, not hurt us. Yet I know people who play theirs on repeat, living life through the rearview mirror. It’s hard to move forward that way.

Yesterday is a great teacher and a wonderful keeper of memories, but a terrible place to live.

As I watch nature’s slow, steady transformation this fall, I’m reminded that God made us to evolve and grow, not revolve and stay stuck. The trees don’t cling to last season’s leaves. They let go and make room for what’s next.

Your windshield is so much bigger than your rearview mirror for a reason. There’s more ahead than behind.

Soul Search

Am I learning from yesterday or living in it?

“Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal.” — Philippians 3:13–14
