Reflection
I often use a simple icebreaker when facilitating workshops: What gives you peace?
Said differently, where do you go to align your energy with His?
Each morning, I create space for peace through journaling, reading, meditation, and prayer. But I’ve found that an unplugged walk in nature, consciously connected to my Creator, is my greatest generator of peace. It quiets the noise and gives me room to reflect; to honestly ask whether I’m living the life God built me to live.
In these noisy, distracted days, what gives you peace? Is a question worth examining.
We can become so immersed in other people, places, things, and circumstances we have no control over (distractions) that we stop paying attention to how we’re living. We repeat routines, carry old attitudes, maintain habits, rush from one responsibility to another, or stay glued to media while life passes by.
Then one day we wonder, How did I get here?
Soul Search
What might I see if I honestly asked God to show me myself?
“Search me, God, and know my heart… See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
— Psalm 139:23–24
