National Recovery Month – Day 17 – Let Go

Some of us think holding on makes us strong, but sometimes it is letting go.

Reflection

Few recovery sayings have meant more to me than β€œLet go and let God.”

My natural tendency is to grab the steering wheel… to manage people, predict outcomes, solve tomorrow’s problems, and carry responsibilities that God never gave me.

The early stages of my recovery journey continually reminded me that control is often an illusion.

I have responsibilities, but I am not responsible for everything. I can do the next right thing and leave the outcome with God.

Letting go isn’t something I accomplish once. Some days I surrender the same thing twenty times. πŸ™‚

What do I need to place back into God’s hands today?
