Don’t Believe It – Day 9 – No Score

God does not keep a scoreboard. He keeps a cross.

— Louie Giglio —

THE LIE

“God is disappointed in me and is keeping score.”

REFLECTION

Some picture God with a clipboard, ticking off their failures with growing disappointment.

This image is deeply damaging and entirely false. It is the image of a taskmaster, not a Father.

Scripture paints a radically different portrait: a Father who runs toward His returning child while he is still a long way off. No lecture, no probationary period, no ‘I told you so.’ Just an embrace, a robe, a ring, and a celebration. (Prodigal Son Scripture – Luke 15:11-31)

I know. I once was the Prodigal Son… but my brother never complained… grateful.

Fact

When we screw up and repent, God’s posture toward us is not arms folded in disappointment; it is arms open in welcome.

Yes, He desires growth.

Yes, sin grieves Him.

But His overwhelming response to a repentant heart is joy, not condemnation.

Thanks for the Cross, God…Lord knows I’ve needed it way too often.

SOUL SEARCH

What image of God do you carry most often — Father, Judge, or something else? Ask God to show you who He truly is. Read Luke 15:11-31 slowly and prayerfully.

There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. — Romans 8:1
