Taking Action – Day 5 – Movement Medicine

Movement is a medicine for creating change in a person’s physical, emotional, and mental states.

Reflection

When life feels heavy, the instinct is often to sit still and wait it out.

Movement – physical, mental, spiritual – is frequently the medicine we resist most and need most.

A walk clears the mind.

A conversation stirs the soul.

A new challenge sharpens the spirit.

God designed us for activity, not passivity.

If something in your life feels stuck today, consider that the answer may not be more thinking. It may simply be movement.

Take the walk.

Make the call.

Show up.

Let motion do what stillness cannot.

Oh, and by the way, prayer is the most powerful action step you can take.

Soul Search:

  • Where do I need movement — physically, emotionally, or spiritually — right now?
  • What have I been sitting with that I should be acting on?

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”  Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
