Joy Over Perfection

Perfection steals joy; grace restores it.

Reflection

Perfection is a heavy burden.

It whispers that nothing is ever good enough, that every flaw disqualifies you.

But grace tells a different story. It reminds us that God isn’t asking for perfection—He’s inviting us into freedom.

When we loosen our grip on perfection, we make room for joy.

We begin to laugh at our missteps, grow through our failures, and live with a lighter heart.

Joy doesn’t live where perfection is demanded; it lives where grace is embraced.

As a side note…

I’ve been playing a lot more golf lately, and I’ve finally figured something out: perfection is not an option. So I loosened my grip on it, learned to embrace the suck — and there, of all places, is where I found joy.

Where, in your life, are you striving for perfection instead of resting in grace?

2 Corinthians 12:9 – “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
