Reflection
A weakness in me is craving what I don’t need. The enemy uses possessions as false idols, pulling us from God. We don’t just waste money, we spend money we don’t have on things we don’t need.
The enemy’s aim is to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Debt is one way he does it—convincing us to buy now and pay far more later.
How is fear the culprit for excessive spending?
At its core, the behavior isn’t really about money; it’s about fear whispering, “You’re missing something…you’re not enough…this will fix it.”
We often buy to fill a deeper emptiness.
Only God truly satisfies.
When the urge hits, invite Him into that space.
Cheap highs cost dearly, God’s peace never does.
