Reflect
We’re blessed to live in a part of the Midwest where we get to experience all four seasons in full color. Our home sits tucked back in the woods with a pond out front, and when snow falls, it turns the whole place into a quiet, winter postcard.
We had one of those days recently.
But with snow comes adjustments, especially because of our special guy, Jordan. His day program was delayed, so Lori and I had to reschedule our plans. It was a small inconvenience, but, truthfully, our lives already operate with built-in flexibility. When you’re caring for someone with disabilities, uncertainty is part of the landscape.
This month I’ve been writing about clarity, and that morning reminded me why it matters so much.
Clarity about Whose you are, who you are, what you stand for, why you exist, where you are going, your priorities, and your responsibilities (all key elements of your true north) becomes an anchor when circumstances shift.
When you know your true north, you don’t lose your composure just because the weather or life changes. Without that anchor, people rise and fall with their circumstances. With it, you stay steady, no matter the storm.

Does my disposition and clarity change with the weather?
Matthew 7:24-25, “The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”
