Reflection

A view from the Focus Terrace at Aileron
I’m fortunate to spend a few days each month at Aileron—a place born from Clay Mathile’s dream nearly twenty years ago. It’s a world-class space unlike any other, created to help leaders grow their businesses, their people, and themselves. Every time I’m there, I look to the sky and thank Clay for making his vision real.
Clay passed a little over two years ago. Until then, I thanked him every chance I got—sometimes in person, sometimes through a handwritten note.
His dream has come true and has helped thousands worldwide achieve their dreams… me being one of them.
Gratitude matters. In the rush of life, we forget how powerful a simple “thank you” can be. Every time we express gratitude, we strengthen that muscle—and when that muscle grows, our eyes, ears, and heart begin to notice the good in the world instead of the challenges.
Feeling grateful and expressing gratitude are not the same.
A thank-you left unsaid is a blessing withheld.
Gratitude grows when we speak it, write it, text it, or show it.
Someone needs to hear your appreciation today—not to inflate their ego but to affirm the impact they’ve had on your life.

Who will you intentionally affirm today?
