Gratitude is a Choice

Gratitude is not a result of your circumstances; it’s a result of your focus.

Reflection

Paul wrote letters of gratitude from prison!!!!

That alone should grab our attention.

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV)

Gratitude isn’t something we wait to feel—it’s something we intentionally practice. Especially when life feels heavy.

When we choose to focus on God’s goodness rather than our circumstances, we anchor ourselves in truth, not emotion.

With practice, gratitude becomes our default response rather than complaining. The more we thank God for what we have, the more clearly we see the blessings that have been there all along.

Gratitude doesn’t change our situation—it changes us…I always write from experience.

Where has complaining taken God’s place in your mindset?
