Reflection
A few weeks ago, I asked you to pray for some very important people in my life.
Yesterday, one of them — The Runner Guy — crossed the ultimate finish line.
That ugly C-word finally took its toll. But as followers of Christ, we know no diagnosis and no earthly word has the final say over His Word.
The Runner Guy completed eleven marathons in his lifetime. This past week, he “ran” his twelfth — a different kind of race — with the same perseverance, dignity, and determination that defined his life.
It wasn’t an easy race, but it carried him across a finish line where he is now whole, pain-free, and rewarded for a life well lived as a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and leader.
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain.”
— Revelation 21:4 (NLT)
My heart aches for his family, friends, and the team at his business, which he built from the ground up. But I’m comforted knowing this separation is temporary. One day, they’ll be reunited in a place too beautiful for words.
Nothing — not even the C-word — can outrun our God.
Love you, Runner Guy.
You taught me so much.
I’m very grateful for our friendship.
